Jean Todt: I will say if we go back a few decades ago, implementation of the safety belt, which was something which today seems to be absolutely normal routine for certain privileged people in developed countries, but it’s something which is not yet, unfortunately, applied. If we go to the air bag, which was an essential development. Now if we speak about new technologies which are already occurring, I will speak first about ESC – Electronic Stability Control, which avoids the car to skid and to lose control.
I would emphasize that it is very important that good information is given to the driver because they need education. Because very often in all the new technology – and in modern cars – there is a lot of content, but people don’t know about it and they don’t know how to use it. So that is very important to have this kind of information.
Hi. I’m Captain Richard Morris. I’m from Sydney. I head up Sydney’s Superyacht Services and the New South Wales Superyacht Industry Association, and I’m a director of Superyacht Base Australia. It fills me with enthusiasm to come back here to Auckland 10 years later, 11 years later, and to see a marina full of superyachts and development. Coming from Sydney where it’s the same – it’s booming over there – I think we might have done something right.
The double whammy effect of Australia and New Zealand; the combined attraction, is the catalyst that attracts yachts here. Yeah, there’s a lot of conflict on the rugby field, but as far as business and tourism and promoting superyachts to come down here, it’s better that we co-promote.
The last 10 years since I was here at the America’s Cup in 2000 to now, I’m so pleased to see so much development and the industry maturing. I am filled with excitement about what the next 10 years is going to hold.
Tom Hanks: I speak with one… I have a Scottish accent in one of the roles. I play a Scottish…
Craig Ferguson: Uh-oh…
Tom: Uh-oh. As if we don’t have enough fake Scottish accents on this show.
Craig: Hey! What the hell? Come on, now! My accent is 100% genuine. “Who is that cheeky monkey?” That’s fake.
Tom: We can teach your entire audience how to speak in a Scottish accent with just two words.
Tom: Two words. This is what we learned at the Great Lakes Theater Festival in Cleveland, Ohio.
Craig: How did you get there?
Tom: I took a steam locomotive …
Tom: … and rented a…
Craig: Fair enough. I’ll let you do it.
Tom: Because we did a production called “What Every Woman Knows,” which is a great Scottish comedy from a long time ago.
Craig: Grew up watching it.
Tom: And here’s the… Anybody can do it. All you have to do is say, audience join me in saying, say “silver.”
Tom: So put them all together: ‘silver plate’…
